A sliding gauge in solid brass — wholly non-magnetic, so you can measure beside an open watch movement without risk to it. The notched jaws take both external and internal measurements of watch parts, beads and jewellery findings, with the dual scale reading in metric to 80mm and in inches to 3".

Adjustment is a simple friction slide worked one-handed from a raised stud — no vernier to squint at, just quick, repeatable sizing at the bench. Brass also resists corrosion, and at 80mm the tool drops neatly into a tool roll. Model engineers and electronics technicians reach for it for the same reason horologists and gemologists do: steel calipers are the wrong tool near small, magnetically sensitive components.
