Shipping policy

Every order ships from UK stock, either packed by us in Birmingham or through Amazon's UK fulfilment centres.

UK delivery

Free UK delivery on orders of £30 or more. Orders under £30 carry a flat £2.95 charge (Royal Mail Tracked 48), shown at checkout.
We aim to dispatch orders placed before 2pm UK time, Monday to Friday, on the same working day. Orders placed after 2pm, at weekends or on UK bank holidays are dispatched from the next working day. Same-day dispatch is a target, not a guarantee: orders sent from Amazon’s UK fulfilment centres, and orders at busy times, can take longer.
Carrier: Royal Mail Tracked (24/48) for most orders; larger or heavier items may ship by courier. You will receive tracking by email once your order leaves us.
Estimated delivery (after dispatch): Standard 2–3 working days, Express 1–2 working days — by Royal Mail Tracked, subject to the carrier.

International delivery

We ship to the EU, USA, and most of the world. International rates and options are calculated at checkout based on destination and weight.

Customs and duties: for most international destinations we operate on a Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) basis — import duties and taxes are calculated and collected at checkout, so the total you pay is final, with nothing further to pay on delivery. For the small number of destinations where prepaid duties are not available, any import duty, VAT, or handling fees charged by the destination country are the recipient's responsibility and are set by your local customs authority.
Orders to the European Union:
- Parcels worth €150 or less: EU VAT at your country's rate is charged at checkout. Since 1 July 2026 these parcels also carry the EU's temporary flat customs duty of €3 for each type of goods in the parcel (goods with the same customs tariff code count as one type, however many units), due to run until 1 July 2028. The duty is shown at checkout, and we do not expect anything further to be collected from you on delivery.
- Parcels worth more than €150: different EU import rules apply, and import VAT and duty depend on the goods and your country. Please contact us before ordering and we will confirm how the charges will be handled for your delivery.
- EU handling fee: from 1 November 2026 EU customs charge a €2 handling fee for each type of goods bought online from outside the EU, whatever the order value. On parcels worth €150 or less it is never collected from you on delivery: our EU delivery charges include it.
If a carrier ever asks you to pay duty, VAT or a fee on an EU order, please contact us before paying and we will resolve it with the carrier.
Delivery times vary by destination and customs clearance — typically 5–15 working days.

Order tracking

Once dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. If you have not received tracking within two working days of ordering, email info@toolsmithltd.co.uk with your order number.

Problems with delivery

Not arrived? If a tracked order has not arrived within the expected window, contact us — we will chase the carrier and put it right.
Arrived damaged? Email us as soon as possible — and in any case within 14 days of delivery with photos and we will arrange a replacement or refund. See our Returns page.
Wrong address? Tell us as soon as possible. We cannot redirect an order once dispatched, but we will help where we can.
