Precision titanium tweezers for intricate watch and jewellery repair tasks, ensuring non-magnetic handling of delicate components.

What it does

These 120mm tweezers offer exceptional grip and control for manipulating minute watch parts, tiny gemstones, or fine chain links. Crafted from solid titanium, they are inherently non-magnetic, preventing interference with sensitive mechanical movements. The precisely machined, straight tips ensure accurate placement and retrieval of components, while their light weight reduces hand fatigue during extended bench sessions.

How to use it

  • Grasp component firmly with fine tips.
  • Maneuver with steady, controlled movements.
  • Wipe clean after use for longevity.

Who it's for

Essential for professional watchmakers servicing intricate calibres and bench jewellers setting small stones or working with fine wire. These tweezers are ideal for replacing less precise steel tools where magnetic interference or weight is a concern, empowering both intermediate and seasoned professionals.

Common questions at the bench

Will heat damage these tweezers?
Stainless steel cross-lock and standard tweezers handle bench-torch heat (1500 °C+) on the working tips repeatedly without damage — the steel just discolours. Titanium-tip soldering picks specifically will not bond to silver or gold solder, which standard steel will after enough use.
Cross-lock or reverse-action — which one?
Cross-lock (self-locking on close) grips your work without finger pressure — best for holding a piece for soldering. Reverse-action (locks open, releases on squeeze) holds a piece in position when you want to walk away. Most benches end up owning both.
What is the third-hand base for?
A heavy base with one or two cross-lock arms keeps your work stable while you set up solder pallions or apply heat. Frees both your hands for the torch and pick. The heavier the base, the steadier the work — aim for 1 kg+ for medium bench-torch work.
Can I solder on a ceramic board?
Yes — ceramic boards reflect heat back into the work and do not pit the way old fire-bricks do. For sterling work, a charcoal block underneath gives a reducing atmosphere that helps prevent firescale.
