Achieve precise, consistent curves for rings and metal strip with this robust bench-mounted bending machine.

What it does

This tool leverages mechanical advantage through a long steel lever and spherical grip to form metal strip into uniform circular shapes. Its precisely machined steel and aluminium bending mechanism ensures smooth, controlled operation, while the hardened steel dies provide durable formers for repeatable results. The tool's sturdy construction allows for significant force application without flex, essential for clean bends.

How to use it

  • Select the appropriate die for your desired curve.
  • Position metal strip and engage the lever for smooth bending.
  • Store dies neatly on the integrated wooden base.

Who it's for

Essential for UK jewellers, silversmiths, and craftspeople needing to create consistently round rings or bend metal strip. It's also ideal for artists making spoon rings or other custom items from cutlery. This tool replaces the inconsistency of plier-bending and complements your existing bench setup.

What's in the box

Ring bending machine with wooden stand, four cylindrical mandrels, and eight profiled forming dies.

Common questions at the bench

What can I bend with it?
Metal strip into rings and curves, and cutlery handles for spoon rings, as this product's description says. Annealed (softened) metal bends more evenly and is less likely to crack.
How do I use it?
Choose the die for the curve you want, set the strip in place and work the lever steadily, as the description shows. Bend a little at a time and check the curve as you go rather than forcing it in one pull.
How do I get the ring size right?
Check the size with a ring sizer or on a ring mandrel before you join or finish the ring, and true it on a mandrel if it needs it.
How should I look after it?
Wipe the dies and mandrels clean after use, keep them dry and store the dies on the wooden stand, as its description shows, so they do not knock against other tools.
