How does the slide lock work?
Close the tips on the stone or part, then move the slide along the arms to hold them closed. Locked, the tweezers hold without any hand pressure. Move the slide back to release, with the tips over a tray or sorting pad.
Which tip size do I need?
Finer tips suit small stones and parts; larger tips give a wider grip on bigger stones, cabochons, beads and components. This product's title gives its tip size, and its description says what it is made for.
How do I avoid dropping a stone?
Grip the stone across its widest point, with the tips square to it, and lock only once it sits straight in the tips. Work over a tray or pad so a stone that drops is easy to find.
How should I look after them?
Keep the tips clean and aligned, do not use them to prise or lever, and store them where the tips cannot be knocked or bent.
