For jewellers and silversmiths forming anticlastic curves in narrow stock, these pliers provide the correct geometry for fine-gauge work. The ¼-inch channel supports the material on both faces, producing a clean curve without distortion. UK-stocked for immediate dispatch to your workshop.

Key features

  • Polished steel upper jaw with a ¼-inch wide cylinder channel.
  • Fixed lower jaw features a small, domed anvil for shaping the curve.
  • Brass inserts in the channel and at the anvil base help prevent marring of soft metals.
  • Box-joint construction ensures jaws remain aligned under pressure.
  • Fitted with cushioned, non-slip blue vinyl handle grips for comfort.

Who it's for

Primarily for UK bench jewellers, silversmiths, and metalsmiths creating contemporary anticlastic rings, bracelets, and earrings. Also suitable for model makers and fine metal artists working with non-ferrous strip and wire.

Common questions at the bench

Will these mark soft silver wire?
Our flat-, snipe-, and round-nose pliers have polished interior jaws — they will not mark cleanly annealed precious-metal wire when used with normal grip pressure. For absolutely no-mark work on finished pieces, wrap the jaws with masking tape or nylon-jaw covers (sold separately).
Can these cut hardened wire?
Tungsten-carbide-tipped cutters in this collection handle hardened steel up to spring temper. Standard side cutters are for non-ferrous (silver, gold, copper, brass) up to half-hard. Check the product spec for the cutting capacity.
What is the difference between parallel and standard pliers?
Standard pliers pivot on a single point — the jaws scissor open and grip strongest at the tip. Parallel-action pliers stay perfectly parallel through the full opening, giving equal grip pressure across the whole jaw face. Parallel models are higher-precision (better for wire-wrapping and dead-soft annealed wire) but cost more.
Do they come spring-loaded?
Most of our bench pliers ship spring-loaded for one-handed operation. Where the spring is removable, the product description notes it. Spring tension is set for all-day comfort, not maximum grip.
