Forming Stake No 4, Double Ended Synclastic/Anticlastic — 9 Inch Hardened Steel, Polished
Compound curves are where flat-stake work stops and this tool starts. One end carries synclastic profiles for dishing metal in on both axes; the other is anticlastic, for saddle forms where the curves oppose. Graduated radii along each end let you creep up on a form instead of forcing it in one pass — the heart of raising and holloware and vessel work.
The stake is hardened steel with highly polished working faces, so the surface it gives back to the metal is clean and mark-free. The central hexagonal block locks into a bench vice without rotating. Oil it lightly against rust, and keep hammer faces off the polished surfaces.
- Double-ended design offers both synclastic and anticlastic forming surfaces.
- Manufactured from hardened steel for durability whilst working precious metals.
- Highly polished working faces ensure a clean, mark-free finish on your piece.
- Central hexagonal block provides a secure, non-slip grip in a bench vice.
- Features multiple graduated curves on each end for forming a variety of radii.
