Forming Stake No 8 — Double-Ended Synclastic/Anticlastic, Hardened Steel, 9 Inch, Polished
A forming stake for the curves flat stakes cannot give you — synclastic on one end, anticlastic on the other, both in the defined No. 8 profile. Work sheet over it for holloware, bracelets and other compound-curved pieces, and the geometry stays true from one course of hammering to the next.
The steel is hardened and polished to a mirror finish, so the stake gives no tool marks back to the metal — whatever you form over it needs less cleaning up afterwards. A hexagonal central block seats securely in a bench vice or stake holder without rotating under blows. Overall length is 9 inches, with a working end at each extreme, and it also serves metalsmiths shaping non-ferrous sheet more generally.
- Forged from hardened steel and polished to a mirror finish to prevent marking precious metals.
- Double-ended design offers both synclastic and anticlastic curves in a single tool.
- Features the specific No. 8 profile for creating defined curve geometries in sheet metal.
- Hexagonal central block provides a secure, non-slip grip in a bench vice or stake holder.
