A comprehensive toolset for adding texture and shape to non-ferrous metals. This 22-piece kit provides a complete workstation for a range of forming, planishing, and repoussé tasks, supplied with two wooden stands to keep your bench organised and your tools accessible.

The eight hammers feature polished, varied head shapes mounted on dark hardwood handles, offering balance and control. The set includes a versatile planishing hammer with nine interchangeable nylon inserts, allowing you to shape metal without marking the surface. The remaining hammers provide a wide array of texturing possibilities, from fine stippling to broad, linear patterns.

Combined with the 10 miniature stakes and 4 larger anvil stakes, this collection offers a wide variety of forming surfaces for detailed metalwork. It's a foundational kit for anyone looking to move beyond basic fabrication into more sculptural and textured designs. Use it for forming rings, raising small vessels, or adding decorative finishes to sheet metal.

  • Includes 8 texturing hammers, 10 miniature stakes, and 4 anvil stakes.
  • Hammers feature polished steel heads and dark hardwood handles for control.
  • One planishing hammer includes 9 interchangeable nylon inserts to prevent marring.
  • Supplied with two wooden stands for organised benchtop access to all tools.

Common questions at the bench

What weight hammer should I start with?
For most bench work, 4–8 oz is the sweet spot. Lighter hammers (2–4 oz) suit fine detail and chasing punches; 6–8 oz suits forging and texture work. Avoid anything over 12 oz unless you specifically need a raising hammer.
Can I use this on annealed silver and copper?
Yes — these hammers are designed for non-ferrous metals: silver (sterling, fine, britannia), copper, brass, bronze, and aluminium. The polished face will not transfer marks to clean annealed stock when used correctly. For mild steel work, use a separate hammer.
How should I care for it?
Wipe the face down after each session to prevent any tarnish from work residue marking your next piece. If the head develops nicks, polish them out with fine-grit emery and a buffing mop — a marked hammer face transfers marks to your work.
What is in the box?
One hammer with the head and handle fitted, ready for the bench. Polished faces are protected with a thin oil film — wipe before first use.
