For jewellers forming fine wire bails on small pendants and earrings, these mini pliers offer greater control. Their compact size and dual-diameter jaws create consistent 2mm and 4mm loops where standard tools would overwhelm the piece. All our tools are UK-stocked for same-day dispatch.

Key features

  • Features dual cylindrical jaws with 2mm and 4mm diameters for consistent loop forming.
  • Constructed with a box joint to ensure jaw alignment is maintained under pressure.
  • Compact 4¼-inch (approx. 108mm) overall length provides enhanced control for fine-scale work.
  • Red, plastic-dipped handles are curved for a comfortable grip during repetitive tasks.
  • Satin-finished steel construction resists glare and corrosion at the bench.

Who it's for

A core tool for UK bench jewellers and jewellery students working with fine-gauge precious and non-ferrous metals. Also suitable for model makers and electronics hobbyists requiring precise, small-diameter loops in soft wire.

Common questions at the bench

Will these mark soft silver wire?
Our flat-, snipe-, and round-nose pliers have polished interior jaws — they will not mark cleanly annealed precious-metal wire when used with normal grip pressure. For absolutely no-mark work on finished pieces, wrap the jaws with masking tape or nylon-jaw covers (sold separately).
Can these cut hardened wire?
Tungsten-carbide-tipped cutters in this collection handle hardened steel up to spring temper. Standard side cutters are for non-ferrous (silver, gold, copper, brass) up to half-hard. Check the product spec for the cutting capacity.
What is the difference between parallel and standard pliers?
Standard pliers pivot on a single point — the jaws scissor open and grip strongest at the tip. Parallel-action pliers stay perfectly parallel through the full opening, giving equal grip pressure across the whole jaw face. Parallel models are higher-precision (better for wire-wrapping and dead-soft annealed wire) but cost more.
Do they come spring-loaded?
Most of our bench pliers ship spring-loaded for one-handed operation. Where the spring is removable, the product description notes it. Spring tension is set for all-day comfort, not maximum grip.
