Resizing a bracelet goes wrong at the moment the pusher skates off the pin. This scribe is for the step before: seat its fine steel point in the link-pin recess first, and the pin is located accurately before you bring in the pin pusher or hammer — no slips, no scratched links, no apologising to the customer. It belongs alongside your pin-removal block, like the rest of the kit in our common repairs guide.

The point is set into a turned hardwood handle through a metal ferrule, giving a controlled, comfortable hold for fine positioning. At 5.2″ overall it suits both independent workshops and busier service benches.

  • Sharp, fine-tipped steel point for precise location in pin recesses.
  • Turned hardwood handle provides a comfortable and controlled grip.
  • Steel point is securely set into the handle with a metal ferrule.
  • Designed for use alongside watch band pin removal tools and blocks.
  • Helps prevent scratching or marring of watch bracelet links during servicing.

Who it's for

Common questions at the bench

How do I take a link out of a bracelet?
Rest the bracelet on a firm support with the pin over a hole or channel, so the pin has room to come out. Many bracelets have small arrows on the inside of the links showing which way the pins come out; push in that direction. Line the point or pusher up with the end of the pin, then push or tap it straight through. This product's description shows where it fits in that job.
What if a pin will not push out?
Look at both ends of the pin first. A slot in the end means the link is held by a screw, which is undone with a watch screwdriver that fits the slot, not pushed out. If it is a push pin, check you are pushing in the direction of the arrows, and do not force it: a pin forced the wrong way can bend or damage the link.
Will it scratch the bracelet?
A tool that slips is what usually scratches a bracelet. Hold the bracelet steady, line the point or pusher up with the pin before you apply any force, and push straight rather than at an angle. A strip of masking tape over polished links next to the pin gives extra protection.
How should I look after it?
Wipe it clean after use and store it dry, keeping any wooden part away from water. Do not use a point or pusher that is bent or blunt, as it is more likely to slip off the pin.
