Bench clutter costs minutes every hour. This two-tier wooden stand puts saw blades, burs and hand tools upright where your hand expects them: ten perimeter holes and a central recess up top for blade packets, files and tweezers, with 32 small-gauge holes below for burs, drills and polishing points. It pairs naturally with a well-set-up saw — see our guide to using a jeweller's saw.

It is made from solid wood on a 125mm circular base, stable enough to reach past without toppling and open to 360° access. At 65mm tall, it holds everything within reach without blocking your view of the work.

  • Two-tier wooden construction separates hand tools from smaller rotary bits.
  • Upper holder features 10 perimeter holes and a large central recess for saw blade packets, files, and tweezers.
  • Lower base provides 32 small-gauge holes for organising individual burs, drills, and polishing points.
  • Solid wood with a stable 125mm circular base for 360° access on the bench.
  • Compact 65mm height keeps tools within easy reach without obstructing your view.

Who it's for

Common questions at the bench

Will heat damage these tweezers?
Stainless steel cross-lock and standard tweezers handle bench-torch heat (1500 °C+) on the working tips repeatedly without damage — the steel just discolours. Titanium-tip soldering picks specifically will not bond to silver or gold solder, which standard steel will after enough use.
Cross-lock or reverse-action — which one?
Cross-lock (self-locking on close) grips your work without finger pressure — best for holding a piece for soldering. Reverse-action (locks open, releases on squeeze) holds a piece in position when you want to walk away. Most benches end up owning both.
What is the third-hand base for?
A heavy base with one or two cross-lock arms keeps your work stable while you set up solder pallions or apply heat. Frees both your hands for the torch and pick. The heavier the base, the steadier the work — aim for 1 kg+ for medium bench-torch work.
Can I solder on a ceramic board?
Yes — ceramic boards reflect heat back into the work and do not pit the way old fire-bricks do. For sterling work, a charcoal block underneath gives a reducing atmosphere that helps prevent firescale.
