Sized for larger work: two rounded-rectangle punches produce blanks of 22 × 34.75 mm and 25.4 × 42.85 mm — generous canvases for nameplates, pendant blanks and matched series pieces. Punching rather than hand-cutting keeps the corner radii consistent, which is exactly where hand-cut rectangles tend to betray themselves.

The die block is a substantial 125 × 75 mm and, like the roughly 38 mm punches, machined from hardened, tempered high-carbon tool steel. Strike the bevelled end with a jeweller's hammer or mallet, keep silver, gold, copper or brass sheet to 18 gauge (1.2 mm) or under, and use cutting fluid on a solid bench for the cleanest shear.
