This 10x magnifying loupe brings clarity to intricate jewellery hallmarks and watch escapements, essential for precise bench-side assessment.

What it does

The 21mm glass lens offers a clear, magnified view of fine details, revealing hallmarks, small components, or solder joints with accuracy. Its polished metal body smoothly swivels, folding neatly to protect the lens from dust and scratches when not in use. This robust construction ensures durability for daily bench work, making it a reliable tool for detailed inspection tasks.

How to use it

  • Extend the loupe for use.
  • Bring the lens close to your eye and the workpiece.
  • Retract and fold for storage.

Who it's for

An indispensable tool for UK jewellers, silversmiths, watchmakers, and gemologists needing to examine fine details. It’s equally useful for beaders, wire-workers, and hobbyists, replacing guesswork with visual certainty. Ideal for anyone working at the bench or meeting clients, it complements loupe stands and bench lamps.

Common questions at the bench

Is this safe to use on a vintage watch?
Our case holders, spring-bar tools, and movement holders are designed for vintage and modern watch handling. Soft-jaw inserts protect plated bezels. For one-piece sapphire crystals and brittle dials, slow down and check the description for material limits.
What screwdriver size fits my watch?
Most modern watch movements use 1.0–1.6 mm screwdriver tips. Vintage Swiss often runs 0.8–1.2 mm. Our screwdriver sets cover 0.5–3.0 mm in 0.1 mm increments — you will use 4–6 sizes regularly. Hollow-ground tips grip the screw slot without slipping.
Why do I need a demagnetiser?
Modern phones, magnetic clasps, and stray fields from speakers magnetise watch movements, causing time-keeping drift. A 30-second pass through a demagnetiser fixes most cases. A £20 desk demagnetiser pays for itself within the first time you would otherwise pay a watchmaker to diagnose it.
Can I work on a Rolex or other high-end piece?
These tools are bench-grade and suitable for hobbyist and professional watch repair. For warranty-affecting work on serial-tracked luxury watches, always check whether intervention voids your warranty before opening. We cannot verify what is appropriate for every brand.
