For botanical and autumn-leaning collections: this set blanks maple leaf shapes straight from sheet in three graduated sizes — 24.71 mm, 21.61 mm and 18.25 mm tall — so a batch of pendants or a tray of earring components comes out identical, leaf after leaf. One firm strike per blank does it.
Block and punches are hardened, tempered high-carbon tool steel; the die measures around 64 × 89 mm and takes annealed non-ferrous sheet up to 18 gauge (1.02 mm). Drive the punch with a brass hammer rather than a steel one, and use cutting fluid — both habits keep the shearing edges crisp.
- Cuts three distinct maple leaf blanks from non-ferrous sheet metal up to 18 gauge.
- Block and punches are machined from hardened and tempered high-carbon tool steel.
- Includes three punch sizes: 24.7mm, 21.6mm, and 18.3mm (approximate height).
- The solid steel die block measures approximately 64 x 89 mm (2.5 x 3.5 inches).
- Use with a brass hammer and cutting fluid to prolong the life of the cutting edges.

Common questions at the bench
What metal and thickness can it cut?
Only the non-ferrous sheet metal this product's description names, and no thicker than any gauge or thickness it gives. Do not cut steel or any other ferrous metal: sheet that is harder or thicker than the cutter is made for can chip or blunt the punches and the die.
How do I cut a clean blank?
Anneal (soften) the sheet and put a little cutting lubricant on the punch. Stand the die block on a solid, flat surface, set the sheet in it and seat the punch with its cutting end to the metal. Strike the top of the punch squarely and firmly, with the hammer or mallet this product's description suggests if it names one; one firm, square blow gives a cleaner edge than several light or glancing ones.
Will the blank need finishing?
Check each blank. Smooth any burr or sharp edge with a file or fine abrasive paper before the piece is worn or finished, and if a blank has bowed slightly in the cut, flatten it with a mallet on a bench block.
How should I look after it?
Use it only on the sheet it is made for. Wipe the punches and die block clean after use, oil them lightly and store them dry, with the cutting edges kept from knocking against other tools. If a punch sticks, tap it back out straight rather than levering or twisting it.
