A sparkle-star motif in four graduated sizes — 10.29 × 13.83 mm up to 17.65 × 23.73 mm — punched from soft sheet for pendants, charm sets and model components. Because every blank leaves the die identical, mixed-size pieces still hang together as a set, which is the hard part to manage by hand.
The 3 × 3 inch (76 × 76 mm) die block and its punches are hardened, tempered carbon tool steel. Stick to soft metals — silver, copper, brass — at 18 gauge (1.02 mm) or under, strike with a soft-faced hammer in brass or nylon, and keep the cutting edges lubricated; star points are the first thing to suffer if you don't.

Common questions at the bench
What metal and thickness can it cut?
Only the non-ferrous sheet metal this product's description names, and no thicker than any gauge or thickness it gives. Do not cut steel or any other ferrous metal: sheet that is harder or thicker than the cutter is made for can chip or blunt the punches and the die.
How do I cut a clean blank?
Anneal (soften) the sheet and put a little cutting lubricant on the punch. Stand the die block on a solid, flat surface, set the sheet in it and seat the punch with its cutting end to the metal. Strike the top of the punch squarely and firmly, with the hammer or mallet this product's description suggests if it names one; one firm, square blow gives a cleaner edge than several light or glancing ones.
Will the blank need finishing?
Check each blank. Smooth any burr or sharp edge with a file or fine abrasive paper before the piece is worn or finished, and if a blank has bowed slightly in the cut, flatten it with a mallet on a bench block.
How should I look after it?
Use it only on the sheet it is made for. Wipe the punches and die block clean after use, oil them lightly and store them dry, with the cutting edges kept from knocking against other tools. If a punch sticks, tap it back out straight rather than levering or twisting it.
