A popular pendant motif with awkward inside corners — slow going with a piercing saw, instant with a punch. This set blanks Gothic crosses in four sizes, 15.01 × 20.32 mm up to 25.52 × 34.55 mm, for pendants, charms and mixed-media work, each one identical to the last.
Punches and the roughly 76 mm square die block are hardened carbon tool steel. Feed the die annealed silver, gold or copper sheet no thicker than 18 gauge (1.02 mm), strike firmly with a mallet, and keep cutting lubricant in the routine — that is what preserves the fine detail in the cutting edges.
- Cuts four distinct Gothic Cross shapes from non-ferrous sheet metal.
- Punch sizes (approx): 15x20mm, 18x25mm, 23x31mm, and 26x35mm.
- Suits soft metals up to 18 gauge (1.02 mm) including silver, gold, and copper.
- Die block and punches are machined from hardened carbon tool steel for durability.
- Compact 3-inch (approx. 76 mm) square die block for stable benchtop use.

Common questions at the bench
What metal and thickness can it cut?
Only the non-ferrous sheet metal this product's description names, and no thicker than any gauge or thickness it gives. Do not cut steel or any other ferrous metal: sheet that is harder or thicker than the cutter is made for can chip or blunt the punches and the die.
How do I cut a clean blank?
Anneal (soften) the sheet and put a little cutting lubricant on the punch. Stand the die block on a solid, flat surface, set the sheet in it and seat the punch with its cutting end to the metal. Strike the top of the punch squarely and firmly, with the hammer or mallet this product's description suggests if it names one; one firm, square blow gives a cleaner edge than several light or glancing ones.
Will the blank need finishing?
Check each blank. Smooth any burr or sharp edge with a file or fine abrasive paper before the piece is worn or finished, and if a blank has bowed slightly in the cut, flatten it with a mallet on a bench block.
How should I look after it?
Use it only on the sheet it is made for. Wipe the punches and die block clean after use, oil them lightly and store them dry, with the cutting edges kept from knocking against other tools. If a punch sticks, tap it back out straight rather than levering or twisting it.
